Big Data Architect III, Cloud Computing Technologies Agile Development Labor Rate design and build relational databases. Perform large-scale data access analysis design and archive and recovery design and implementation. Establish and formalize guiding principles, procedures and standards that drive and simplify system data integrations with current and new application interfaces. Ensures compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and data privacy regulations. Participates in data architectures implementations and upgrades. The big data architect is responsible for managing the full life-cycle of open-source software framework for storing data (like the “Hadoop”) by developing strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. Translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions. Develop data warehousing blueprints, evaluate hardware and software platforms, and integrate systems. Review and develop object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access. Depth in data modeling and database design is a required skill. The Senior Big data architect should be sound across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to database optimization. In his/her experience this skill extends to SQL development as well as database administration. Highly skilled on ETL/EAI and other common data management tools, may have working experience in Oracle Database Systems. Ability to do technical project management. Proven analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Solid oral and written communication skills. Experience with Amazon cloud environment. Customer oriented mentality. Experience managing small to medium teams, team and process-oriented spirit, Nice to have: energy Industry experience, data quality mindset. A big data solutions architect needs to have a firm understanding of major programming/scripting languages (like Java, Linux, PHP, Ruby, Phyton and/or R). As well as have experience in working with ETL (Extract Transform Load) tools such as Informatica, Talend and/or Pentaho. Requires a Bachelor of Science degree or higher level honor(e.g Masters or Ph.D.) in Computer science, computer engineering or any other related field. With 9+ years of working in a database related field. Reports to the Sr. Manager of Data Architecture.
