LR118 Site Reliability Engineer II

Site Reliability Engineer II, Cloud Computing Technologies Agile Development Labor Rate is responsible for building and developing advanced automated software, tools, and infrastructures to help engineering teams measure and enhance operations. Works in conjunction with the engineering team to generate scalable solutions, develop metrics and performance indicators to track operational, security, and infrastructure. Balances the roles of the incidence manager and intelligence by enhancing mechanisms for incident prevention by proactive data analysis and monitoring. Participates in all stages of software release process, ranging from development, through testing, to deployment and monitoring on all test and production environments. May have 6-10 years of experience in this field, with at least one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in an Information Technology, software development or security operations environment in one or a combination of the following: Department of computer science, information security, cybersecurity, public health service, public safety services, engineering, information technology, and any other specialized area related to site reliability engineering field. Have adequate knowledge related to network protocols and distributed database implementations to measure, visualize, analyze, characterize, and improve performance, robustness, availability, and scalability of the organization’s delivery platform. Possesses excellent ability to keep sensitive information confidential and skills to adapt to rapid changes within an organizational environment. Fluent in scripting technologies such as Python, Perl, C++, Shell, SQL, and relevant relational database languages. Demonstrates high level of expertise working with internet protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, Ruby, and/or SSL, as well as experience with data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Telegraf, etc. Proficient in Linux / Unix operating systems. Assists with issues related to troubleshooting to determine the root cause and leverages advanced skills in data analysis, network diagnostics, and debugging tools to help operations and support teams across the entire organization. Works cross-functionally with other members of the team to ensure compliance with security and data handling policies to meet regulatory standards such as PCI, ISO, HIPAA, etc. Reports to the Senior Site Reliability Engineer.
