Systems Engineer I, Cloud Computing Technologies Agile Development Labor Rate installs, configures, tests, and maintains operating systems, application software, and system management tools on behalf of an organization. Ensures adequate monitoring and managing of all installed systems and infrastructure, and participates in formulating and designing security systems to maintain data safety. This may involve providing engineering support for systems and subsystems, including but not limited to configuration management, data management, security, and other related technical functions, as well as designing, developing, fabricating, testing, and evaluating systems, subsystems, and equipment. May have 2-5 years of experience in this field, with at least one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in an IT or enterprise systems engineering environment in one or a combination of the following: cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, computer systems engineering, information security, engineering, information technology, and any other specialized area related to systems engineering. Demonstrates moderate level of Proficiency working with Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems and have adequate knowledge of computer scripting/programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, Linux shell/BASH, Perl, and Ruby, including relevant relational database languages like SQL. Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and governance skills to work with other members across organization’s departments including project management, security, asset management, and customer service units in order to solve complex problems and manage activities and operations effectively. Possesses required knowledge and experience in performance tuning of application stacks including Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, and/or NGINX; virtualization such as VMware and/or Virtual Box; and management of system development lifecycle methodologies. Pays keen attention to every detail and is able to keep sensitive information safe and confidential. Demonstrates moderate level of experience in maintaining technical documentation to ensure efficient planning, implementation and execution of organization’s projects. Assists with identifying, diagnosing, and troubleshooting systems connection, reliability, or performance issues. Works under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Systems Engineer.
