Cloud Computing Technologies

Cloud Computing Technologies (CCT) is a forward-leaning, AI-driven federal contractor specializing in advanced data science, machine learning, and cloud-native solutions for U.S. Government and Department of Defense programs. As a GSA Multiple Award Schedule (47QTCA23D000J) holder delivering mission-critical capabilities, our work spans predictive analytics, AI model development, cyber-intelligent automation, and next-generation cloud architectures. We partner with federal and defense organizations seeking to transform legacy environments into intelligent, data-driven ecosystems that operate with speed, precision, and national-security-grade reliability.

We are expanding our AI and analytics team in Charleston, South Carolina, supporting key defense initiatives that demand world-class data science talent with excellent judgment, technical depth, and the integrity required to support sensitive missions. If you are a US Citizen with a DoD Secret Clearance (or eligible to obtain one) who thrives at the intersection of complex datasets and mission-impacting outcomes, we want to talk to you.

Responsibilities as a Data Scientist

In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced data science solutions that strengthen national-security missions and modernize DoD operations. You will apply statistical rigor, machine learning expertise, and modern cloud technologies to bring clarity, prediction, and automation to high-value defense datasets.

Key responsibilities include:

Core Data Science & Modeling

  • Perform statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and analytical exploration to validate operational insights.

  • Build supervised and unsupervised ML models, including regression, classification, clustering, anomaly detection, and recommendation systems.

  • Develop advanced deep learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers) for complex mission datasets.

  • Create predictive models and time-series forecasts to address operational and readiness challenges.

  • Lead A/B and multivariate experiments to evaluate model performance and mission outcomes.

Programming & Tool Development

  • Work daily with Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and/or R (dplyr, caret, ggplot2).

  • Develop maintainable notebooks and pipelines using Jupyter, Google Colab, Git, and GitHub.

  • Write SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analytical reporting.

Data Engineering & Pipeline Automation

  • Construct scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and end-to-end ML workflows.

  • Apply feature engineering, data preprocessing, and big-data methods with Spark and Hadoop.

  • Build orchestrated workflows with Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.

Databases, Cloud, and Deployment

  • Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Utilize cloud ecosystems such as AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, EC2), GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery), or Azure ML.

  • Deploy ML models into production environments using Docker containers, REST APIs (FastAPI or Flask), and modern MLOps practices.

AI & Advanced Analytics

  • Build NLP systems using Transformers, BERT, GPT-based models, and embeddings.

  • Support computer-vision initiatives using OpenCV and deep-learning image-classification frameworks.

  • Develop generative-AI solutions aligned with DoD security and compliance requirements.

Visualization, Insight Generation & Collaboration

  • Produce dashboards, reports, and briefings using Tableau, Power BI, Plotly, and Matplotlib.

  • Translate technical results into clear, operationally relevant insights for commanders, program managers, and mission stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, cyber, and cloud teams across a multi-contract environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • US Citizenship (non-negotiable for federal contract work).

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred).

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data science or machine learning roles (DoD or Federal experience strongly preferred).

  • Proficiency with Python or R, and comfort working with modern ML frameworks.

  • Demonstrated experience building statistical models, ML pipelines, and reproducible analytical workflows.

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to brief technical insights to mission leaders.

We Will Be Ecstatic With

We would be thrilled if you also have:

  • Prior work supporting Navy, DoD, DHA, SPAWAR/NIWC, or other national-security agencies.

  • Hands-on MLOps experience (CI/CD for ML, model registries, automated retraining).

  • Experience with generative AI, LLM fine-tuning, or enterprise AI integration.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (Zero Trust, NIST 800-53, DoD RMF).

  • Background in operations research, simulation modeling, or optimization.

  • A passion for transforming complex DoD data into mission-critical decisions.

Benefits, Perks, and Compensation

Cloud Computing Technologies offers a comprehensive and competitive compensation program designed for senior federal-mission professionals:

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and clearance level

  • Federal-holidays + generous PTO

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k) retirement plan
