Expands Federal Agency Access to Advanced IT and Systems Integration Services Through a Governmentwide Multiple Award Vehicle
Press Release | For Immediate Release
Chandler, AZ — July 31, 2011 — Castillo Technologies, LLC, doing business as Cloud Computing Technologies (CCT), announced that it was awarded a position on the General Services Administration (GSA) STARS II Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), a Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, Contract No. GS-06F-0787Z.
GSA STARS II was established to provide federal civilian and defense agencies with streamlined access to a broad portfolio of information technology services through a pre-competed, governmentwide acquisition vehicle. The contract supports both simple and highly complex IT requirements and was designed to reduce procurement lead time while enabling agencies to obtain mission-critical technology solutions in a compliant and efficient manner.
The STARS II GWAC features a program ceiling of $10 billion, a five-year base period with a five-year option, and supports multiple contract types, including fixed-price, labor-hour, and time-and-materials task orders. The vehicle allows for directed task orders up to $4 million, provides flexibility in structuring procurements, and operates under FAR 16.505 fair-opportunity procedures.
Under GSA STARS II, Castillo Technologies supported a significant volume of federal task order awards across multiple functional areas, including C1 FA2 and C1 FA3, delivering a wide range of IT and technology-enabled services. These services included cybersecurity, cloud computing, virtualization, data center consolidation, network engineering, systems administration, telecommunications integration, software development, IT help desk support, and compliance-aligned solutions supporting federal standards and security requirements.
GSA STARS II introduced a constellation-based structure, enabling agencies to select contractors based on technical capability, pricing, and additional industry credentials. Through its participation in the program, Castillo Technologies supported integrated, end-to-end IT solutions for federal customers operating in diverse mission environments, including enterprise infrastructure, secure networks, data management platforms, and emerging technology initiatives.
“GSA STARS II represented a major phase of growth in both the scale and complexity of the federal programs we supported,” said Mr. Alan F. Castillo, President of Castillo Technologies. “The contract enabled agencies to rapidly access qualified IT partners while reducing administrative burden and procurement risk, and it allowed our firm to deliver a large volume of mission-aligned solutions across multiple federal organizations.”
The STARS II GWAC also provided federal agencies with advantages such as shortened procurement timelines, reduced protest risk for qualifying task orders, and access to a pre-vetted pool of contractors capable of supporting long-term program planning. Castillo Technologies’ performance under STARS II further expanded its experience operating within large-scale, governmentwide acquisition frameworks.
Castillo Technologies’ participation in GSA STARS II builds upon its earlier involvement in federal GWAC programs and represents a significant chapter in the company’s contract history, reinforcing its long-standing role in supporting U.S. government information technology modernization initiatives.
